DESCRIPTION
As a consequence of the recent turmoil on supply chain and prices many companies have had to make procurement through auctions on products and components not normally purchased this way. Moreover, selling through auctions is new to most companies and in many cases discarded as an option, because of little or no knowledge or experience in using auctions as a sales channel. However, much could be gained in some cases using auctions as sales channel.
Also, companies that already have experience with either procurement or sale through auctions may take advantage of this workshop process as some important mechanisms of buying and selling using auctions will be discussed. Some examples are true bidding, first order vs second order bidding and reputation costs. Furthermore, there is the whole evaluation on if, how and where you should make your auction buying or selling and what are the consequences both on reliability, compliance and other important factors connected with using auctions.
SPECIFIC ISSUES AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED TO MAKE DECISIONS
- How do we find the best auction platform for either buying or selling?
